Privacy Policy

  1. Who we are

    AnkBodh, including the Market Sentiment & Structure Lab, is run by Yogesh Tiwari, an individual operating as AnkBodh (“we”, “us”), based in Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, Pune, Maharashtra, India. For your personal data, we are the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”).

  2. What this policy covers

    The website at ankbodh.com, any AnkBodh apps for Android or iPhone we release, and the emails we send. The same rules apply wherever you use AnkBodh.

  3. What we collect

    What you give us

    • Account details: your name and email address, and your password, which we store only as a secure one-way hash. We never see or keep the password itself.
    • Profile details, if we ask and you choose to give them: such as your mobile number, age range, and trading or investing experience.
    • Messages: feedback you send in the app and emails you write to us.

    If you sign in with Google

    Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never receive your Google password.

    What is recorded when you use AnkBodh

    • Sign-in and security records: when you sign in, your IP address, and your browser or device type.
    • Usage: which pages and features you open, and errors you run into, so we can see what helps and what confuses.
    • Approximate location: the country, state and city you visit from, worked out on our own server from your IP address, using MaxMind's GeoLite location data. We keep only those place names and a rough position for the city, never your IP address for this. If you are not signed in, it is recorded with nothing that identifies you. This product includes GeoLite Data created by MaxMind, available from www.maxmind.com.
    • How you found AnkBodh: the website you came from (for example Google or X, by name only, never the full address) and, if you arrive through a campaign link or ad, which one. We remember that in your browser for 30 days, and save it on your account if you join, so we can see which links bring people. It holds nothing personal and is used only by AnkBodh.
    • Settings on your device: your theme, chart layers, lesson progress and the campaign link above are kept in your browser's local storage.

    What we do not collect

    Your broker login, trading account, bank or card details, Aadhaar or PAN. AnkBodh never connects to your broker and never places trades. If we introduce paid plans, payments will be handled by a licensed payment provider; we will not store your full card or bank details.

  4. How we use it

    • To create and run your account, including reviewing and approving access during the private beta.
    • To send account emails, such as “your account is active”. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
    • To keep AnkBodh secure: limiting repeated sign-in attempts, spotting misuse, and investigating problems.
    • To improve AnkBodh, mostly from combined usage patterns rather than any one person.
    • To reply to your messages and complaints.
    • To meet our legal obligations.

  5. Why we are allowed to

    We process your data with your consent, which you give when you register, or for a legitimate use the DPDP Act allows, such as information you give us voluntarily for a purpose, or meeting a legal requirement. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights); we will then stop, though we may not be able to keep your account open.

  6. Who we share it with

    We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with services that help us run AnkBodh, and only what each needs:

    • Google Cloud: hosts our servers and database, in its Mumbai, India region.
    • Cloudflare: runs our domain and forwards email sent to hello@ankbodh.com.
    • Resend: sends our account emails. It processes your email address outside India.
    • Google Analytics, only if you allow it: measures how AnkBodh is used.
    • In future, a payment provider if you buy a paid plan, and an AI provider if you use AI features. Your questions to an AI feature are sent to that provider to produce the answer.

    We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect AnkBodh, its users or the public. If AnkBodh is ever transferred to another owner, your data would move with it under this policy.

  7. Where it is stored

    Your account data is stored in India. Some of the services above process data in other countries, which the DPDP Act permits except where the Government of India restricts a country. We choose providers that protect data to a high standard.

  8. How long we keep it

    • Account data: for as long as your account is open.
    • After you delete your account: removed from our live systems within 30 days, and from backups as they are replaced, within 90 days.
    • Sign-in and security records: up to 12 months.
    • Anything the law requires us to keep for longer is kept only for that period.

  9. Your rights

    Under the DPDP Act you can:

    • Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
    • Ask us to correct, complete or update it.
    • Ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent.
    • Nominate someone to act for you if you die or become unable to.
    • Raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.

    Email hello@ankbodh.com from the address on your account. We will reply within the times on our Grievance Redressal page.

  10. Children

    AnkBodh is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has registered, tell us and we will delete the account.

  11. How we protect it

    Every connection is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access to our systems is limited and protected. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

  12. Cookies and similar storage

    • Essential: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. AnkBodh cannot work without it.
    • Preferences: your settings, kept in your browser's local storage.
    • Analytics: used only after you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.

  13. Mobile apps

    Our Android and iPhone apps, when released, follow this policy. They will ask before using device features such as notifications, and you can turn those off in your phone's settings.

  14. Changes to this policy

    When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
